You can spend more on a fancy showerhead / filter combo…but why? The SHF-KDF filter is the economical answer to removing the chlorine from your shower water. This filter uses 100% KDF 55 Process Media for the best performance possible under the higher temperatures of shower conditions. Unlike carbon filters, KDF 55 is truly bacteriostatic and eliminates microbial growth within the filter. Carbon filters, which remove chlorine though surface chemistry, actually foster bacterial growth. Higher water temperatures can cause some contaminants trapped in the carbon bed to re-enter the water flow. Hot water has no such effect on KDF 55.
KDF 55 Process Medium is listed under NSF International Standard 61(Health Effects) for water treatment, and has been independently tested to completely or partially remove chlorine, heavy metals, Algae, Fungi and other contaminants. KDF 55.
Simple Installation:
The SHF-KDF is easy to install. Simply unscrew your existing showerhead and screw on the SHF-KDF in its place. Then remount your showerhead on the threaded connector on the other side of the filter and you’re done! Quality o-ring seals ensure a good fit without leaking.
Replacement Intervals:
The SHF-KDF Filter has an effective life of 15,000 gallons. In most households, we recommend replacing each shower filter once every 6 months.
