Fluoride is a toxic heavy metal that is not easily removed by most filtration media. This is an under-counter system completely ready to install with our chrome long-reach faucet and all tubing and connections. A filter wrench is also included to easily remove the sump housings in order to replace the filter cartridges.
Health Concerns Over Fluoride In Drinking Water:
Recent studies in the peer-reviewed medical literature indicate that fluoridated water can have detrimental side effects. Health risks associated with low-to-moderate doses of fluoride include: dental fluorosis; bone fracture; bone cancer; joint pain; skin rash, reduced thyroid activity; and IQ deficits.
Doctors, scientists and researchers around the globe warn of drinking fluoridated water, Dr. Hirzy, EPA Sr. Scientist, called for a "moratorium on fluoridation" as he testified before the U.S. Senate on June 29, 2000 about the dangers of water fluoridation. Citing numerous studies he said that when the relative toxicity levels of lead, fluoride, and arsenic were compared, fluoride is slightly less toxic than arsenic and more toxic than lead .
The Fluoride used for water fluoridation does not have FDA approval and is considered by the FDA as an "unapproved drug". The proper use of any drug requires an understanding of how much is too much. Since fluoride is already in many foods and beverages, an estimated total intake of existing fluoride amounts is imperative. Research shows fluoridation is unnecessary since we're already receiving 300% or more of the American Dental Association's recommended daily amount.

Maintenance, Filter Replacement and Operating Cost:
The FLU-D requires no maintenance other than the filter cartridge replacements. Both the Activated Alumina cartridge and the Carbon cartridge should be replaced once each year, based on the assumed annual consumption of 1,200 to 1,500 gallons of purified water produced each year. If you use more than 4 gallons per day (on average) you should adjust the replacement schedule accordingly.
The cost of both filters is $49.00. This translates into an operating cost of between 3 and 5 cents per gallon! Stage 1 – Pure Activated Alumina cartridge for maximum fluoride removal.

Stage 2 – Coconut Shell Carbon Block; 0.05 micron rated. This stage removes the chlorine, and other contaminants including VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds), Cysts and effectively reduces lead and arsenic. Also improves taste and odor reduction.
