Pentek GS-10 Extra.5 Bacteriostatic Inline 2-Stage Filter CartridgeThis 10-inch inline filter features the highest-quality Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon PLUS patented
KDF-55 process media to produce the best, freshest tasting water while eliminating the bacteria build-up that occurs in all carbon filters.
The Pentek GS-10 Extra.5 has multiple applications because of its unique performance:
As a Post-Filter for Reverse Osmosis Systems. Use the GS-10 Extra.5 as a replacement for the standard inline carbon block post filter on most standard 4 and 5 stage Reverse Osmosis systems. Most reverse osmosis systems use the final stage as a “polishing” filter as the treated water in the holding tank is drawn by demand to the faucet. The intended purpose is to remove the stale taste of the water that has been left in the storage tank. Unfortunately, the standard carbon filters used in most final stage application in RO systems have minimal effect on controlling the bacteria and “bio-film” that accumulates on the inside lining of the RO system storage tank. By utilizing a second stage of
KDF-55 process media, all bacteria and microbial build-up in the storage tank water is eliminated allowing the high-grade Coconut Shell GAC to produce the sweetest, best-tasting water your RO system is capable of producing.
As an Inline Pre-Filter treatment for refrigerators, icemakers, coffeemakers, etc. Use the GS-10 Extra.5 as a direct connected inline filter directly onto a ¼” water line. The combination of both stages of Coconut Shell GAC and
KDF-55 will effectively reduce
chlorine, chloramine taste and odors along with heavy metals and many Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) found in municipal tap water.
